Origami Soft Robotics

I work in a robotics lab here in the Mechanical Engineering department that focuses on using origami methods to create simpler robots. In the Sung Lab (one of the Grasp Labs), I am working on devising a method to scale up soft robotics manufacturing techniques to make larger robots; specifically, my goal is to create and actuate a life-size human head from the template of a much smaller head created by Dr. Sung. My interest is in human robot interactions (HRI), and once built I hope to generate reactions in people from the movement of the robotic head.

More information about the lab can be accessed here: https://sung.seas.upenn.edu/
