Two days ago, Martin Scorsese published an opinion article on New York Times commenting on his own comment about Marvel films. His comment that brought about huge controversy amongst the film fan community was that Marvel movies are “not cinema”. The opinion article further explains and defends his perspective that franchise movies and corporate productions are eating away the opportunities of independent cinema.
