Outbound is an initiative at the National Gallery of Singapore where artists from Southeast Asia are commissioned to transform passages throughout the gallery into artistic spaces. Each space is meant to transform how visitors interact with the gallery and convey new perspectives on the Gallery as a site of art and architecture in the region. This reminded me of the sort of work we’re tasked with in Project 1.3, in that the artists commissioned for this initiative attempt to convey abstract concepts from a physical entity through a different visual medium.
