The panel layout of Project 1.2 reminded me a bit of this piece by Duane Michals, an artist whose work I came across at a photography exhibition earlier this year. This series, titled Chance Meeting (1970), presents two characters moving through a shot in a film-like manner to build a poignant yet open-ended narrative. Like the manuals, Michals’s work strategically uses motifs functioning through a sequence of images in order to convey a process.
